Since becoming a parent, I have changed my definition of productive. Productive used to mean if I got get everything crossed off my list for the day. Now, productive is if I get ONE thing crossed off my list. So, imagine my surprise when I had such a truly productive day yesterday. However, note it was not productive enough to get this blog posted. Here is a description of my productive day:
- I went for a run
- I taught a private yoga session
- I lifted some weights
- I ran errands (TJ's to get flowers (and other things) for the women who take such good care of C & H at the YMCA, Old Navy for Valentine shirts, and the Bike Shop to get a present for Chuck)

- I made Valentines for C's preschool class
- I made Rice Krispie Treats for our treat after Family Night. I thought this was a good activity to do with C while H slept. Little did I know that it would lead to a fit. C did not want to put all the marshmellows in because he needed to save some for the next time they go camping. He did not want to understand that we could buy more before he went camping next time. So, I searched thru the cabinets in hopes of finding a few marshmellows somewhere. And I did. And they expired in April of last year, but C didn't have know that. But after having opened a box of expired graham crackers yesterday, I decided it was time to ...

- go thru our food storage. And this is all I found that was expired. With the oldest expiration date being November 2005. However, I don't think some of the crackers were bought long enough ago to have expired. So, now I am wondering if we are buying expired food.
- I did my yoga homework and got it turned in.
- And I had a little extra time and energy to spend with my Valentine!
And after a day like that, of course, I would want to have another one today. Although, according to my new definition, I did have a more than productive day because I got the floors swept and mopped, dusted AND the washed the towels. But I did not...
- vacuum
- clean the bathrooms
- put my clothes away
- shave my legs
- or fix my yoga homework that was returned
- wash the sheets
Now, I'm exhausted and am going to bed. And I'll pray that my kids let me sleep at least until 5:30am with no interruptions.
