We had a very nice Christmas this year. We went to our neighborhood potluck for dinner Christmas Eve. Christmas morning the kids woke up around 6:30 and we opened gifts. Santa brought a bat and baseballs for C, a bath time baby and bottles for H and a dump truck for baby C. They all got pillow pets from us. They were very excited about them. Among the other great gifts were red flannel sheets for C and a huge trunk of dress up clothes for H. (The present that was asked for but not given was a Nintendo DS for Cameron. Although, he did say he wished he would have gotten it; he wasn't too upset when I explained why he did not get it.) Charity and Emily came over later in the morning. They watched the kids while Chuck and I went for a run (70 degrees and sunny). Then we cooked, ate, played games and read books that were gifts.

Christian is 11 months!
Baby C turned 11 months over a week ago, I just haven't had a chance to post pictures. Overall, he is a very happy baby. Although, in the last several weeks, he has decided he needs a lot of attention. Since learning to pull himself up and stand with assistance, he always manages to find my leg and won't let go. He is sleeping well and napping twice a day usually. He loves to play peek-a-boo and loves to be chased. He hates to have his diaper changed. In fact, changing his diaper is such a chore that most of the time I don't have the patience to put his pants back on, which is why he is only in his diaper in a lot of his pictures. Christian is a gem and we adore him!

Happy Thanksgiving

I love this picture! Pure joy on Noah's face, but I'm not sure about C's. He is either thinking "Don't hug me, Noah." or "Don't take my picture, Carla." C came home with a pumpkin which we cooked up and made pumpkin bread with and a killer pumpkin cheesecake, which we had instead of pumpkin pie.
Another performance at the Happy Apple Preschool where H did not say a word.
We started out the day with our traditional 10K Turkey Trot. We just took Christian since he had never done it before. C and H stayed with aunts Char and Kami, uncle Jonathan and cousins, Darien, Annie, Ellie and Sarah.
The Turkey Runs a 45min 10K. I'm not quite that fast, maybe next year!
It goes without saying that, I am so thankful for my amazing husband, my gorgeous kids, the comforts, prosperity and health we all enjoy! But also, I am thankful for; the experience of being pregnant and nursing babies - which is absolutely amazing, running -which makes me feel whole, asics 2150s - which have allowed me to run thousands of miles, sugar - without which we would not have m&ms (specifically the mint ), Dr. Pepper and so much more ...

Christian is 10 months!
I can't believe how fast this boy is growing! He is still eating well (weighing in at 23 1/2 lbs) and sleeping well. He is still getting around with the cutest army crawl. He loves to play with the kids and he loves his mommy. He is pulling himself up and even cruising a little on the furniture. He just had his circumcision completed. He was a model patient and recovered extremely well. We love this kid to pieces!
The Knack
I was changing the belt on the vaccuum when C said, "Oh, I see how this works." C's best friend, Carson, who's dad is also an engineer, told his mom he really wanted to get some nails, a hammer and some wood and go build something. Then the boys sat in the car and talked about how much they loved math! It was too funny. If you have never seen the Dilbert cartoon, "The Knack", the link is below. It is a much see!

Halloween - Installment 5
I took the kids trick or treating while Chuck passed out candy. The kids did great! They kept moving and were polite. Baby C went with us, but we did not dress him up. We were out of energy at this point! We met up with our neighbor who has a 3 year old who loves Hannah. He told his mom he wanted to be a ballerina next year. I wish I would have gotten a picture with him. But my hands were too full to worry about the camera too.
Halloween - Installment 3
We were invited by Carson and Natalie to a Halloween Festival. There were games, candy, balloons, a bounce house and slide and a lot of people. It was a fun time except for when C got lost. He and Carson ran off and got seperated. It was really dark at the time. I made my way back to where we had been and did not see him. I made my way back to Carson, thinking maybe C had found him. But he had not. So, Carson's dad and I began to look. We found him near a lighted picnic area, crying. I was very proud of him for staying put. But I hope he was scared enough that he learned not to run off, especially when it is so dark.
Halloween - Installment 2
A very grumpy "Sam I Am"
I would not say this where Cameron could hear, but I have to admit, public schools these days do have a lot of rules and not a lot of fun. So, I was surprised when the kindergarteners were allowed to wear costumes to school. But they could not be just any costume, they had to be from a storybook and they were only allowed to wear them for about 2 hours. Cameron chose to be Sam I Am, which Granny Annie so willingly agreed to make in addition to his official costume. The kids paraded around the school and went back to the classroom for a little party. The party did have to include learning though. So, they played bingo with letters and had to color a picture of and write what they were for Costume Storybook Day. However, they did allow the kids to have junk food (as part of their art project) which is unusual. Camera was in town and got to be there, which made Cameron so happy.

Great White Sharks
Cameron is playing baseball this year. It is going much better than the soccer did. He seems to be enjoying it. His first game, he started on third base. The first 5 balls were hit to him and he did not move. Between innings, I told him he needed to get the ball whenever it is close to him. The next game went much better. The kids seemed to be going after the ball more. They get several pitches thrown to them and if they don't get a hit, they hit off the tee. Everyone gets on base and there are no outs. It's pretty cute to watch.
