Eight is great and Cameron is too! Cameron's birthday was on a Thursday and we had a busy day, not much involving celebrating his day. Thursday is "bagel day", so Chuck put a candle in his muffin and everyone at Einstein's sang Happy Birthday to him. I picked up a burrito from Rubio's and a root beer and took it to school to have lunch with him. And I made him blueberry coffee cake for dinner. The rest of our day included me attending C's music class, cub scouts, and a "Night at the Museum" at the school. We had a family dinner on Friday which included Grandpa Larry, Jonathan, Darien, Annie and Ellie. We had red velvet cake from Costco per C's request. On Saturday the 4th, Cameron was baptized. Grannie Annie and Camera come in late Friday night for the baptism. Cameron was the only child in the ward getting baptized, so he got to plan the majority of the program. Jonathan gave the talk on Baptism, he was baptized by his daddy and his daddy sang "Morning Has Broken". Grandpa Larry gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Cameron was confirmed a member of the church by his daddy also. And Darien offered the closing prayer. I was so impressed with how prepeared Cameron was for his baptism. He has a very good understanding and knowledge of why we are baptized. Following the baptism, we had four of Cameron's closest friends, Carson, Connor, Corbin, Marshall, as well as Darien join us for lunch at one of C's favorite restaurants, The Habit. What a great day it was!
Turning 8 was super exciting for C because he got to be baptized. C has grown enough to be able to ride the tandem with Chuck. They ride often on Saturdays and have even started doing a group ride on Friday mornings, known as "The Friday Ride." He likes to swim, play with cousins when he can and friends, camp and backpack, play sports, watch TV and play on the computer. He loves to be read to and can read very well himself. He dislikes (so he says) school and really dislikes homework. However, he does very well in school. He make friends easily and his teachers always love him because he is quiet, polite and obedient. (I wish I could say the same for life at home). He sometimes dislikes Hannah and hates picking up. He is responsible for taking out the recycling and is mostly agreeable with asked to do that. Of course, if he is not, I doc his allowance. Money is a big motivator for C. If he has money, he will spend it. We love Cameron and are so glad he is part of our family!
