Boys in the Old Hood--Ohio 2015

With the girls safely out of the way, the boys had a marvelous adventure to Ohio.  It was reckless abandonment as they switched off between visits with Grandma Kitty and Papa and explorations of southwest Ohio.  Our goal was to eat Skyline Chili every day and listen to the radio really loud in the car.  We did the best we could.

I thought the airplane ride would be a big hit.  But the boys were much more excited about the fact that we had not one, but two taxis in front of our house to go to different airports--boys on the left; girls on the right.

Even though it is the work of Satan himself that the Bengals and Reds now play in separate stadiums downtown, they have added an extremely cool new park with lots of great structures to climb on and a carousel.  We met Tim and Nash for playtime.

Now I know how a cat feels when it gets itself stuck in a tree.  Uhmmmm, somebody....anybody!

Nothing beats sharing the flying pig with your cousin.

We chased down a balloon (or maybe it chased us down.)  It landed in the field next door.  The boys got to help put it away in the truck--very cool.

Having an entire national scenic waterway (Little Miami River) to yourself for the whole day--priceless!  We kayaked with Tim and Nash near Morrow.

It's wasn't Graeters, but it had a very nice view of the Golden Lamb in Lebanon.

Lunch with Paul and Dorris Hensley during our pilgrimage to Germantown.  Paul must be the world's greatest cook.  The boys ate all of their vegetable soup (multiple colors), homemade applesauce, and what must have been a hundred grilled cheese sandwiches on sourdough.  I don't think the boys generally eat that much in a week!  The boys were less impressed that their house was built before the civil war and looked like a museum.  But it was perfect weather to sit on the porch and watch the leaves changing.  We cruised all of the important Germantown sites and told some stories.  Other stories will have to wait.  Maybe a long time...

Another picture at the downtown park, but I can't figure out how to move it next to the others.

The real deal--Graeters ice cream on Ludlow with the Cincinnati cousins.  This is the way any meal at Skyline Chili should be topped off!  Maybe this is the way any day should be topped off!

Historic train ride to the pumpkin patch for a hay ride.  First experience with cotton candy.  Last experience with cotton candy.  Another perfect weather day.

Sleepover with the cousins at G.K. and Papa's.  Not tired....not......tired........

Watching the model airplanes fly in the field across the street.  Some of them were nearly big enough for Christian to ride.

I wouldn't be a good dad if I didn't introduce the boys to White Castles.  Mmmmmmm...

The historic train.  It moves well in real life, just not on this blog.  I hate computers.
