Merry Christmas 2014!
M artial Arts - Over the summer, I signed up Cameron and Hannah for Jujitsu thinking it would be something fun to keep them busy. They loved it and are still taking class twice a week. Both have been awarded the title of Jukyu white belt - 10th degree.
E xtra Curricular - Cameron has been very busy with extra curricular activities this year. He is a member of the First Lego League and was cast in the role of Rooster in the school's production of Annie.
R iding - Chuck still commutes to work by bike (rain or shine) and is an avid racer. Cameron started racing this year and over the summer went on the Friday Morning Ride (FMR) with Chuck on the tandem.
R unning - I still run almost daily with an occasional race here and there. Hannah started running with me during the summer and will join me when she doesn't have to be to school.
Y MCA - I am still teaching group exercise, mostly at the YMCA. If there was a sub instructor of the year, I am pretty sure it would go to me!
C ousins - We had several opportunities to visit cousins this year. We saw my youngest brother, Zachary, and his family over the summer. It is not often we get to see them. And we got to see my younger brother, Jonathan, several times over the year. We also had 4 baby girl cousins born this year. One to Camera, twins to Emily, and one just a couple days ago to Zachary. We are lucky to have Emily and her twins just a couple miles away. My kids love their cousins so much!
H oneywell - Chuck is still working for Honeywell. However, with a lull in acoustic work, he took on work as a project engineer. His new work took him to Russia for a week and will probably take him there again.
R enovate - We renovated our bathroom this year. It is beautiful and the shower is very spacious.
I nstruments - Cameron quit taking piano lessons and started guitar lessons. He saved up and bought his own guitar. Hannah wanted to take piano lessons. She practices without complaining and without even being asked at times.
S couts - Cameron is now a Bear in Cub Scouts. I am still a Wolf Leader. Chuck was asked to serve in the Young Men's organization and therefore is a Varsity Scout Leader. And Hannah is a Brownie Scout.
T erribly Terrific - Or is is Terrifically Terrible? Terrible at being Terrific? Anyone with kids knows, they can be terrific and they can be terrible with little in between and usually more of one than the other. I won't say which one there is more of at our house.
M ommy Do It - This still seems to be the mantra at our house. Not sure how much longer before Mommy Loses it!
A dventures - the year brought many camping and backpacking adventures. Christian got to go on his first summer trip! The Summer Trip is worth reading about. Look back to the month of July on the blog if you wish.
S chool - Cameron (9) is in 4th grade and still has a strong dislike for school despite his apparent school spirit. Hannah (7) is in 2nd grade and loves it. She has a male teacher with decades of experience. Cameron is lucky enough to also have him as his coach for the First Lego League. Christian (4) is in his second year of preschool and loves it. And I spend a lot of time at Cameron and Hannah's school helping in the classroom and volunteering with the Family Teacher Organization.
As the year comes to a close and we not only reflect on the year but on the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we recognize how blessed we are and give thanks for our safety, health, comforts, security and our Faith .
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Fall Break 2014
The past couple of year, Chuck has taken the kids on an adventure for Fall Break and was hoping to do the same this year. However, not only did he not get to take the week off, he had to go to Russia for the week. But we survived and actually had a nice break. We stayed busy with lots of play dates. At the end of the week, Charity went with us and we drove to Flagstaff. We visited the Lowell Observatory, Sunset Crater National Park and Wupatki National Park. The kids were surprisingly very well behaved the whole time.
