Locks of Love/Summer Cut

Hannah's Baptism

A Happy Birthday

to Hannah and Chuck!

The celebrations/spoiling started a week before her birthday for Hannah.  Chuck took the boys backpacking, but H did not want to go.  So, she stayed with me and we got pedicures, went to breakfast, and the most exciting part....she got her ears pierced.  She chose emerald earrings for her birth month.  I thought that was a perfect choice and I didn't even persuade her.  She did not even flinch when they pierced her ears.  And she has been very diligent about keeping them clean. The following weekend (Saturday was their birthday), Chuck took H to spend two nights on the Queen Mary.  They had a great time.  When they got home, we had dinner with family and neighbors. Hannah requested cinnamon swirl french toast and sausage.

Cake and Ice Cream

To describe Hannah in one word would be enigmatic. At 8 Hannah is clever yet clueless, helpful and hindering, kind but cruel.  She still loves to read and we have been reading Ivy + Bean, Judy Moody, and Amelia Bedilia to name a few.  She also loves to write.  She is often the first kid up and the last one to go to sleep.  She loves shoes and was so excited to get a pair of high heels from our neighbors for her birthday. She changes clothes many times a day but seems to always be wearing the same things.  When she is not fighting with her brothers, she spends a lot of time jumping rope and doing cartwheels.  At age 8, she is 3ft 11.5 in and 48 lbs.
When it was time to open presents, Christian ran to me and whispered,"I didn't get Hannah a present. Do you have anything I can give to her."  And in fact I did.  Cameron wrapped up a couple of books of his and gave them to her.  What sweet boys!
