Summer

There are some things I enjoy about summer... not having to get the kids up and ready for school, not having to pack lunches, not having to nag about doing homework.  And there some things I don't enjoy about summer... the long days, the fighting, the amount of time spent in front of some type of screen.  But overall, we had a good summer.  Cameron, as previously mentioned, started out the summer practicing baseball with the All-Star team.  He went to a week long band camp at ASU that he really enjoyed.  The recital at the end of the week was phenomenal.  Hannah and Christian both swam with the Dobson Dolphins, took piano lessons and took an art class.  There were also lots of play dates.  We went to movies, an adventure park, and spent time with cousins.  And the last week of summer vacation, Chuck and the kids went backpacking in Colorado (more on that to come).

Scouts - Troop 576

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but about 6 months ago Chuck was asked to be the Scoutmaster for our ward's troop.  Honestly, he isn't loving it.  He has some challenging boys who aren't fully invested in the program.  But he is doing an amazing job.  Since Cameron is in scouts, I am thrilled that Chuck is there.  This summer they went to camp Geronimo for a week.  Chuck and Cameron are men of few words, but they did say they had a good time.  Both mentioned how good the food was.  Following the week at Geronimo, they had a Court of Honor.  Cameron was awarded his Scout, Tenderfoot, 1st class and 2nd class as well as quite a few merit badges.
