Homecoming 2024

Both kids went to homecoming with some friends.  It did not even occur to me that Christian would want to go but when I caught wind that he was going, I said, "Christian, are you going to homecoming?' and he said, "Yeah, why wouldn't I?" He had no plans to do anything other than go to the dance, so I suggested that his friends come over for dinner before the dance.  They didn't stay at the dance the whole time (said it was boring).  They came back home to play video games.  Hannah met some friends for dinner, so I did not get a picture of them together and I did not get a picture of Hannah with her friends. We searched hard for a dress for Hannah.  I found several I liked, but they weren't except-able for her.  We finally found one we both agreed on but at the last second she found another one that she said "was it".  I thought it was a little too casual for homecoming.  But it was cheap and the other one could be returned.

Mesa Sprint Triathlon

I know I have said it before, but Hannah is a Rock Star!  She competed in the Mesa Sprint Triathlon and placed 4th out of all the women!  She would have placed higher if she were a little quicker on the transitions.  She was faster than the 3rd place female but slower on the transitions.  She placed first in her age group (the 2nd and 3rd place finishers were in her age group but if you place in the top 3, you aren't included in your age group).  The weather was perfect and she felt good, but she did feel like she could have raced a little harder.  Way to go Hannah!

Freshman tennis

Christian decided to play tennis this year rather than baseball.  Corona has a freshman team that competes in the Fall.  We were quite impressed with Christian's skill level.  He is quite good.  There were a dozen or so kids on the team and Christian usually played in the number 5 or 6 spot.  I did not keep track of his wins and losses but he always played great and did his best.  He keeps his cool and is always respectful to his opponent.  It is so hard to get good pictures during tennis matches.  Either his back was to me or he was too far away to get a good picture.  I'll try to do better in the Spring.
