For his 8th birthday, C wanted to stay the night on the Queen Mary. He learned about the Queen Mary in 2nd grade. So, Chuck agreed to take him. The Queen Mary was the finest passenger liner in the 1930's. At the start of World War II, she was transformed into a troopship. At the end of the war, she was transformed back into a passenger liner and carried passengers across the Atlantic for two more decades until air travel forced her into retirement. Now she sits in Long Beach, CA and acts as a hotel as well as many other things. So, Chuck and C left on a Th afternoon, drove to CA and stayed in a hotel. They hung out the following day and checked into the Queen Mary for the next night. And they drove home on Sat. They toured the engine room on the Queen Mary and toured a Russian submarine. Cameron is never more happy or more fun than when he is getting his way AND getting all the attention to himself. What an awesome time they had.

Scout Heard Pueblo - Cub Scout Day Camp
Cameron attended day camp with Pack 26 at the Scout Heard Pueblo, which is at the base of South Mountain. The camp was held from 3pm-10pm, M-W. Of course, it is very hot in June in Arizona, but the boys were kept wet and well hydrated. Activities included: archery, shooting, swimming, games, and art. C really enjoyed his time at the camp and is really enjoying being a cub scout.

Happy Birthday Mom AND Happy Mother's Day!
For my birthday and Morther's Day, Chuck took the kids backpacking. Now, some people might want to be with their kids on such occasions. But not me! A weekend with no kids is little bit of heaven on earth.
My kids are studs!
Happy Birthday Chuck!

Happy 6th Birthday Hannah!
Hannah wanted to have a "girl" party for her birthday. So, we had 7 of her closest friends over and we painted nails, watched Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2, made fairy crowns and ate strawberry cupcakes with very pink frosting and strawberry ice cream.
| guests included: Renae, Natalie, Violet, Madelyn, Pyper, Laurel, and Regan. |
Hannah had been asking for a very long time for a pair of pink boots, which she did get. Unfortunately, there is no picture, but I am sure the boots will be seen in future pictures. She has been wearing them despite the 110 degree weather. She also got a pair of flip flops. They are like her friend Violet's. She has been asking for a pair of them for some time too. She has quite the interest in shoes. At 6 years old, Hannah loves to go to school, swim, play with Cameron when he is nice, go places with Mommy, and have friends over. She likes to play with dogs, dollies, and stuffed animals. She is still quite attached to her blanket but did tell me not too long ago, "Mom, it's weird, but I don't really love my blankie as much anymore." She loves to eat watermelon, chicken nuggets, and pancakes. She, like all of us, has a sweet tooth and has asked me, "Mom, do you really have a sweet tooth?". She will eat just about any candy and really likes ice cream. But like her dad (and Emma) she is a slow eater and it's hard to get the ice cream eaten before it melts. We love Hannah so much and are glad she is part of our family!
Chuck wrote Hannah the sweetest birthday card for her birthday. Here is what it said...
Dear Hannah
The best birthday present I ever got was you being born on my birthday. I am very proud to share a birthday with you. I am also very proud to be your father. It is so fun watcching you grow up (although it is happening too fast). My goodness, you are even carrying your own backpack. I hope you appreciate the fact that everyone loves you. You make us all smile!
I love you!

Hannah is a Kindergarten Graduate!
| Mrs. Bradshaw |
Hannah loved kindergarten! From day one, she never hesitated when going. Even when she wasn't feeling well, she would still want to go. Each day, she would ride her bike to school with her dad and I would pick her up after school. She made great friends which included: Kendra, Violet, Leilani, and Arielle. And she LOVED her teacher, Mrs. Bradshaw. Hannah loved learning in the classroom. She worked hard learning to read and write. She took speech therapy and made great progress with her speech. She enjoyed art, library, computer lab and physical education. Her least favorite part of kindergarten was being cold in the classroom and being in the hot sun during recess. Hannah is looking forward to 1st grade.
