A funny story!
After 3 nights of not getting up, C got up at 4:45am this morning screaming for me. That of course woke H up too. I got C settled and H had gone back to sleep also, or so we thought. But at 5am, she was ready to get up for the day. Chuck took her for a short run and when they got home, I went for my run. But before I could get out the door, C woke up. I was in the kitchen and he walked right past me into the bedroom, so I snuck out the door before he could see me. He usually throws a fit when he wakes up and I'm not home, but not today for some reason. So, you might be asking if he throws a fit when he wakes up and I'm not home, why did I sneak out. Well, because when I leave he is going to throw a fit too, so either way there is a fit and only one way do I not have to be there for it. Anyway... for the funny part. I come in from running and C says "come here mom, I have a surprise for you". I follow him to the bathroom where he proceeds to open the toilet lid and show me his poop. Of which I will not disgust you with the description. But he did poop later in the day and he wanted to wait to flush until daddy could see it, but I would not allow that. So I flushed the toilet and he threw a fit believe it or not!

Updates on the Royalty Kids
Although Hannah is walking on her own, she still prefers to have my hand or be attached to my leg or hip. I'm not sure why my kids are so clingy! She is sleeping well and taking good naps. She is also very good at following directions.
"Hump" has been replaced by "Chocolate Brownie". Cameron's friends Mia and Marisa gave him this dog and for now, it is playing starter. Hump is still getting to play, just not getting to start. And since this picture is of C in his PJ's, it's a good time to journal the current bed time routine: bath (mom has to get out), get dressed (mommy do it), brush teeth (mom has to play dentist), read stories (mom of course reads, but sometimes dad gets to take C for a horsey ride to get the books), mom tells a story in her bed, mom sings one little monkey jumping on the bed while C jumps, mom puts C in bed and they call for daddy, while he is coming, we hide and C always says "he's not coming", daddy acts like he can't find us and we jump out and roar at him, mom gives a drink, hug and kiss, and a picture from the memo board (don't know who that one got started), daddy tells a story or two, pulls the big cover up (in case he needs it) and shuts the door behind him. The last two nights C has not gotten out of bed during the night! And we have not had to take him back to bed after putting him down for quite a while. He gets a lollipop if he stays in bed all night.

Hannah is walking!
Hannah has been "cruising" around the house for months and for the past couple of weeks has wanted to walk everywhere while holding someone's hand. And finally yesterday she got up and started walking! I had just bought her some shoes on Monday and she is fascinated by them. Charity thinks buying her the shoes is what convinced her to walk. Her daddy came home last night and as she was showing off her new skill he started cheering her on, which caused her to fall and start to cry. Good job Dad! When she is walking, she is so happy and excited, as you can see from the pictures. But sometimes she gets a little too excited and will try to go faster than she can and will fall. I'm so excited she is walking! No more dirty hands, feet, knees etc. And now I can put her on the floor in the public restroom while I am trying to help Cameron. It was hard trying to juggle both!

pictures from our road trip
Road Trip!
On Wednesday last week, we took a road trip to American Fork, Utah, which is near Provo. We left at 4:30am so that the kids would sleep in the car the first couple of hours. But our unpredictable kids were wide awake! Finally about 8:30 they fell asleep for about an hour and took another hour nap after lunch. The kids were great in the car. All 13+ hours of it. We got to American Fork with time for the kids to play with cousins and expend some energy. The kids slept great in the hotel and were relatively good during the day considering they were not getting good naps and eating crap. But there was a lot of whining, fussing, fit throwing, fighting etc. But I guess that's to be expected when you get several little kids close to the same age together. The purpose in going to UT was to attend Camera's graduation from BYU with a master's in family nurse practitioner. The kids were not good at graduation. Other than the graduation, we went to temple square in SLC, went to a firestation, went for a nature hike in the canyon, went swimming, went to the park, and I got to spend some time with Tiffany, a girlfriend from college and her little girl. Chuck ran and went for some nice rides. I ran every day, but not enough. We ate and ate and ate. In fact, here is a list of restaurants we ate at: Biff's Bagels, C-stop pizza, New York Burrito, the hotel for breakfast most days, Daylight donuts (I rarely eat donuts, but ate a apple fritter), Gandolfo's deli, Rumbi Grill (twice), Cafe Rio, The Pie, Burger King (I hadn't eaten at a BK since I was a sophomore in HS and I don't know if I'll ever eat there again) and Fizolli's. And of course, we drank soda and ate cookies and candy. I don't want to eat out for a while! At least not at a fast food restaurant. We left Sunday morning and the kids were great again in the car but slept less than 2 hours the whole time. Coming home took 14+hours. It was good to see everyone and nice to get away, but traveling with kids is hard. So, I'm not sure when we will do that again!

Cameron's first day of Preschool
First Day of School
Cameron started preschool today! He's been telling people for weeks he won't get to see them anymore because he is going to preschool. I'm not sure what he thought going to preschool meant, but he was not apprehensive at all. He is going to school T and Th from 9:30-12 at an in home preschool called the Happy Apple. He has about 20 classmates, some of whom he already knows. He didn't have much to say about school when I picked him up, but he seemed to have had a good time. The best part was when I picked him up, his shorts were on backwards. On a bigger toilet, he will take his pants all the way off to be able to get his legs wider (he's still sitting), so he must have dressed himself afterwards. While he was at school, I had a great time! Hannah took a long nap. So, I caught up on e-mail, did yoga homework, made phone calls, did laundry and watched Young and the Restless. Cameron then took a great nap, but Hannah had done hers already, so she felt like she didn't really need another one. But she was pretty good at entertaining herself while I cleaned the kitchen, did more laundry etc. So, after finishing this post, I am going to bed feeling like I had a pretty successful day.
