2011 in Review

Wow! Another year has come and gone which means it is time to review, reflect and remember. In January, Christian turned ONE. What a joy that little boy has been. He sleeps, eats and plays well. He loves his momma, dadda, brother and sisters, anything with sugar in it, cars, trucks and motorcycles. He is overall a happy, fun child. In February, I was able to take a trip to Maui to visit my best friend from high school and celebrate the life of her father. While there, I ran a 1/2 marathon and took a day trip to Moloka'i to visit a friend from college. What a much needed and appreciated vacation! In March, we took a trip to Farmington to visit aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins. In April, after years of training and work to complete requirements, I completed a 500 hour master yoga teacher training program. May was a big month! Cameron turned SIX and graduated from kindergarten. This year, Cameron played a couple sessions of baseball and took a hip hop class. He learned to ride a two wheel bike and do the monkey bars. He loves to watch TV and play on the computer. And he still loves for his mom to play with him! He adores his little brother and can be a great helper. Hannah turned FOUR and finished her first year of preschool. This year, she took several dance classes. She loves to play with babies and dress up. She is quiet and well behaved at school, but it's another story at home. She is the one keeping me up at night these days. In June, Chuck took all the kids camping for four days. July came with a short backpacking trip as well as the annual summer backpacking trip (7 days, 6 nights). Unfortunately, neither included little C. C and H also took swim lessons, art classes and tennis lessons. In August, C started first grade (which he is enjoying more that kindergarten) and H started her second hear of preschool. In September, Chuck and I celebrated our 9th anniversary. I, Rebekah, continue to teach group exercise at the YMCA as well as 24 hour fitness. I love to run and practice yoga. Chuck continues to work at Honeywell and race his bicycle. In October, during Fall Break, Charity and I took H to San Diego while Chuck took the boys to Zion National Park. In November, Lily turned 20. She is working in the office of an orthopedic surgeon and is learning what it is like to live with roommates. In November, we also reflect on our many, many blessing; friends, family, health, and prosperity. In December, Emma turned 18. She is busy, busy, busy as a Sr. at TPA. And of course, in December we celebrate and remember the greatest gift we have ever received. How grateful we are to our Heavenly Father for giving us the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. And for the myriad of blessings we have been given. We wish you all the best in 2012!

Merry Christmas!

We had a relatively quiet Christmas this year, stayting here in the Valley of the Sun. Lily and Emma spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with us, which was an unusual treat. Charity and Emily joined us on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve we went to our neighborhood potluck and enjoyed Mexican food. Christmas morning the kids were able to see what Santa brought them but had to wait to open their other presents until after church. We had chicken pot pies for Christmas dinner, per Cameron's request. It was a beautiful day, so in addition to playing with new toys inside, we enjoyed being outside also.

Christian at 23 months!

Oh how Christian makes us smile! He is so much fun! He adds more words to his vocabulary daily. He is so affectionate, always giving hugs and kisses before he goes off to bed. He often crawls down the hall to his room, barking like a puppy. He has to put many toys in his bed at night and we have been leaving the light on for him so he can "read". Cameron often gets him and all his toys out of bed in the morning and they walk down the hall together. Too cute! He loves to jump and if he's jumping off a chair, you'd better be there to catch him. He has a very very sweet tooth. His ears perk right up at the word treat and he doesn't like to be told one more or last one. He especially loves lollipops. He calls them pops. Charity was talking about pop culture and Christian says, "pop, pop!" wanting a lollipop. He follows right along with his brother and sister, copying their every move. He loves to look at pictures of Jesus and will shout, "Jeez, Jeez". He loves to be picked up by his ankles, hung upside down and swung back and forth. We call it "tick tock". He will lay down on the floor, put his legs in the air and say, "tock, tock." When we are done, he will put his little finger really close to his mouth and say, "mo" (more), meaning one more time. We were reading a book that said, tick tock tick tock; Christian laid down on his back and said "tock, tock". He also loves to tell a knock, knock jokes. His best joke goes:
Knock knock
Who's there?
Interrupting cow

Interrupt...

Moo

Christian's version is knock knock, who's there? Moo!

He loves to be on the move! If the word go is used, he puts his arms in the air and says, "go, go" and then "shoe, shoe". And whatever he is playing with at the time has to go with him. He still wants to be on my lap (standing, sitting or turning in circles) during meals, driving me absolutely crazy. And he does not cooperate when he has to have his diaper changed. But other than that, he is for the most part a delight!
