Summer 2019

Well, we (mostly I) survived another summer.  I tried to keep the kids busy but there was still plenty of time for fighting, bickering, arguing, complaining and whining.  But there were some good times as well.

Cameron took a weight training course at the high school.  He also practiced/played 7 on 7 football.  He went to band camp for a week, went backpacking for a week (more on that later), and took a golf class, which he loved.  He watched a lot of TV and played video games until about two weeks before summer vacation was over when the TV went on sabbatical (which means it is gathering dust in my room).  After that, he had to find other ways to entertain himself.  Unfortunately, I didn't get many pictures of Cameron's summer activities.

Hannah took a synchronized swimming class, went to Girl's camp, spent a week at band camp, spent the time the boys were backpacking with the Palmers and did lots of art.

Christian swam with the Rhode's swim team.  He went to Cub Scout Day Camp where they swam, built fires, shot BB guns, and toured the courthouse.  He went backpacking for a week.  The rest of summer he played hard, worked hard (of course he did get paid to work) and still had time to relax.

Visiting Charity

Charity's been living in Denver, CO for a couple of years now, so just after school got out for the summer, I took Hannah for a visit.

We explored the Garden of the Gods.

We went to the Denver temple.

We visited Dinosaur Ridge.

We also got to visit with our friends, Josh and Laurie Brown, who moved from Tempe about 6 years ago.  Charity was a great host and it was nice to take a break from the hum drum of life as well as spend some time with Hannah.
