I didn't document my potty training experience with Cameron and Hannah because there was nothing to it. I put them in underwear (Cameron when he was 3 and H when Christian was born) and that was that. But Christian was much different. At age 3, he didn't seem ready or interested in potty training at all. So, we waited a couple months and gave it a try. We bought underwear, put it on and then had a successful pee in the potty. But after that, he refused to put the underwear back on and wanted a diaper. I said once the diapers were gone, I was not buying more and so he insisted he would not poop then. Not wanting to force the issue, I complied, bought another package of diapers and waited another month or so. Then it was crunch time. Preschool was starting in less than two months. We were out of diapers and there was no going back. We put underwear on and he immediately peed in it. So, I convinced him to put a pull up on. After that, we had very few "accidents". But after a day of not pooping, I told him even if he pooped in his pull up, the most important thing was to poop. So, although he was peeing in the potty, he would poop in his pull up. After a couple weeks, I put him in underwear and he would insist on putting a pull up on to poop. After, a week or two of that, he starting putting his own pull up on. After about a week, he forgot the pull up and just started pooping in his underwear. And after about a week of that, he just started pooping in the potty. Now, I don't even have to ask if he needs to use the bathroom and most of the time I don't even have to help. He even stands to pee. The first couple times, pee was everywhere, but he has it under control now. He is doing so great! His prize for becoming potty trained was the hand puppet monkey seen below. He really wanted it when we were at the store, but I wouldn't buy it for him. I went when he wasn't with me and bought it to save for the right time. The next couple times we went to the store, he looked for the monkey and was disappointed when it was gone. So, he was very happy when I gave it to him.

"I'll be late for dinner."
As I was fixing dinner, I got a phone call from Chuck. He said, "I just laid the bike down. I'll be home a little late." I didn't think much about it because "laid the bike down" usually means something minor and Chuck sounded perfectly normal. A few minutes later, I got a call from a friend who takes the same route home (in a car) and saw Chuck after he had gotten hit by a car. Chuck was in the bike lane, minding his own business when a car turned right, clipping his back wheel, causing his bike to fly out from under him and for him to hit the pavement and get dragged a little bit. Witness called the police and a report was filed. The driver was cited. Chuck rode his bike home and rode his bike (a different bike) to work the next day. He had some bad road rash on his arm and a bruised hip. He didn't complain at all, but I'm guessing he felt like he'd been hit by a car.
