The Last Day of Preschool!

As you can tell, C was so excited to be there! haha Chuck and I were wondering if he does this just for us, or if he's always like this. I don't think he sang one note or said one word the whole performance.

A Good Day!

I usually get caught up in the bad/hard days, so I want to make a note of an especially good day we had. Last Friday, C woke up at 5:22am (that wasn't so good) and wanted to go to a walk. So, before H got up we went for a walk. Then we went to the park at 8:30am before it got too hot and even though it was already too hot, the kids stayed mostly in the shade and had a good time. We had some lunch and read stories for a while, then both kids, without complaints, took naps! After naps, we went to the YMCA to swim and they were great. By the time we got home daddy was home and we went to the Boy Scouts spagetti dinner. I had to leave early from dinner for yoga teacher training. C walked me to the car and said, "Mom, I have to ask you two things...When you get home, you can check on me. And, good night sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite. If they do, hit them with your shoe." And then he stood and waved to me as I left with no tears!
This is a picture of the kids bonding while using the potty. H has been going in the potty 1-2 times a day for the past several weeks. It gets C so exicted. So, when he needs to go, he'll ask her if she wants to go to and she usually does.

Flip Flops

I rarely wear anything but flip flops, usually refering to them as slippers. Well, I took the kids to the mall to play the other day and C mentioned that he wanted some flip flops. He also needed some shorts, so I figured the flip flops would be a good way to get him to go to the store with me without too much complaint. So, we went to the Children's Place and got both C and H a pair of flip flops, 2 for $5. They were so excited about them and have worn them everyday since. I don't think it was my wearing of flip flops that sparked the interest, but maybe some kids at school. I'm actually quite surprise they like them with the thing between the toes...

My Hard Workin' Husband

Chuck is always hard at work, but especially the last month...
He is currently painting the outside of the house, making use of his forced time off from Honeywell...

We are starting to see the proceeds from his diligence in planting and maintaining our garden...

And he painted our bedroom and I love it! It was really horrible before, too dark and the accent wall looked like someone just got bored and didn't finish what they'd started

Cameron really wanted to help paint, so trying to discourage him, Chuck told him he'd get the paint on his clothes, to which C replied, "I'll just take my clothes off." What a smart boy!

Happy 4th Birthday Cameron!

On Saturday (C's actual birthday) we celebrated with some friends at Sweet Tomatoes. C loves Sweet Tomatoes. Several of his friends are very vibrant children, so I knew this was going to interesting. They were a little out of control while we were waiting for some friends to arrive, but once we were settled, they were all very good and I recall any major fights or fits. We had cake there also and it didn't even occur to me to bring candles. But luckily, my friend Adriana's mom had a book of matches, so we used those for candles. We then took the opening of presents outside. C got some great gifts! I bought him a big rig car carrier that was a really big hit. He has played with it along with many matchbox cars that he got for hours and hours. Of course, he does prefer that I'm there playing along with him.

C got a digital camera. Here he is taking a picture of Morgan and Carson.

Lily and C. Lily had to leave early to get ready for prom.

On Friday, Chuck took the day off and we went to the northwest valley to the Wildlife World Zoo. C was a little whiny (can you believe that?), but overall the kids were good and the zoo was fun.

Chuck went for a bike ride when we got back and I was getting ready to go to a yoga class when he got back. Sensing this, C said, "I have an idea Mom. Let's go get a cold drink." (We sometimes go to Sonic for Happy Hour when I really need a Dr. Pepper). He then proceeds to get in the car and buckle himself in as well as encourage H to get in too. I had to take a picture, but boy were they upset when not only did we not go get a cold drink, but I left!

Thanks to everyone for making his party a success and for all the great presents!
Happy Birthday Cameron! We love you.
