this is Chuck's backpack, weighing upwards of ~110 pounds
hiking into Silverton
The summer backpackers this year included: Chuck, Cameron, Hannah, Jonathan, Darien, Annie, Tim, Preston and Emmett. The adventure started in Durango, CO where they caught the Durango Silverton train. They got off the train at Elk Creek, where they continued to backpack for 7 days and 6 nights and somewhere between 24-28miles on the Elk Creek, Continental Divide and White Head trails. They hiked into Silverton and caught the train back to Durango. Chuck said: the kids were AMAZING, the weather was awesome, the trail was overly challenging, the scenery was unbelievable (his favorite place on earth), and no matter how hard they worked the kids on the trail, they still played like it was recess when they got to camp. Christian and I spent some quality time together. I got some quality sleep and was very productive.
