This is Hannah at the Wed. night crits...
This is the kids playing in the car and eating pizza while watching the crit..
This is a picture of the kids in the morning. I wanted to capture H in her sleeper since she is so cute and since she probably won't be wearing them again this winter seeing as how it has been 78 degrees in the house when we go to bed.
This is C&H, getting along? ....
This is C ready to go play in the rain...which he wouldn't actually do
This is C&H helping to plant the garden...
This is H in C's bicycle helmet...
I love these kids!

A Happy Valentine's Day!

Cameron had a party at the park for Valentine's Day. They played, sang songs and exchanged Valentines. You can see him in the middle here.

Below is a picture of C with his best friend, Carson. On the other side of C is Carson's sister, Natalie. She is a couple months older than Hannah. Carson and Natalie's mom is having another baby in May. And the other day, C asked if we could have another baby like Carson.
Our beautiful Hannah!

Chuck's Valentine present. A time trial bike that he built himself. He says it is really fast!
And I got a Ipod Touch. I wanted it mostly to put play lists on for my group ex classes, but it has a lot of other cool features too. We went to Spinatos' for an early dinner with Mike and Melissa and then we watched a movie. It was a good day.

A Productive Day!

Since becoming a parent, I have changed my definition of productive. Productive used to mean if I got get everything crossed off my list for the day. Now, productive is if I get ONE thing crossed off my list. So, imagine my surprise when I had such a truly productive day yesterday. However, note it was not productive enough to get this blog posted. Here is a description of my productive day:
  • I went for a run
  • I taught a private yoga session
  • I lifted some weights
  • I ran errands (TJ's to get flowers (and other things) for the women who take such good care of C & H at the YMCA, Old Navy for Valentine shirts, and the Bike Shop to get a present for Chuck)

  • I made Valentines for C's preschool class
  • I made Rice Krispie Treats for our treat after Family Night. I thought this was a good activity to do with C while H slept. Little did I know that it would lead to a fit. C did not want to put all the marshmellows in because he needed to save some for the next time they go camping. He did not want to understand that we could buy more before he went camping next time. So, I searched thru the cabinets in hopes of finding a few marshmellows somewhere. And I did. And they expired in April of last year, but C didn't have know that. But after having opened a box of expired graham crackers yesterday, I decided it was time to ...

  • go thru our food storage. And this is all I found that was expired. With the oldest expiration date being November 2005. However, I don't think some of the crackers were bought long enough ago to have expired. So, now I am wondering if we are buying expired food.
  • I did my yoga homework and got it turned in.
  • And I had a little extra time and energy to spend with my Valentine!

And after a day like that, of course, I would want to have another one today. Although, according to my new definition, I did have a more than productive day because I got the floors swept and mopped, dusted AND the washed the towels. But I did not...

  • vacuum
  • clean the bathrooms
  • put my clothes away
  • shave my legs
  • or fix my yoga homework that was returned
  • wash the sheets

Now, I'm exhausted and am going to bed. And I'll pray that my kids let me sleep at least until 5:30am with no interruptions.

Rachel Clare Photography

My cousin Rachel, is a photographer in CA. In December, she was passing thru Tempe and was kind enough to spend some time with us, taking our photos. There are so many good ones, especially of C. H was in a pretty bad mood that day. She hadn't been feeling well for several days, so there aren't as many good ones of her or of her and C together. Anyway...here are some of my favorites (with the exception of the one of me and H. I look weird, but it's the only one).

Cameron

Here is what I would consider to be C's first actual drawing. Everything up until now has looked like scribbles with maybe a circle here and there. And to the untrained eye, this may look like scribbles too. But to the trained eye (aka mom's eye), you can clearly see the head with hair, eyes, 2 legs and 2 arms (coming out of the head). I was extremely impressed when he drew this.

There are no words to describe...just laughter!

At least this picture isn't as bad.

Okay, so I can't run a 4 hour marathon but...

I do have beautiful, adorable children!
C fell alseep on the way home from the zoo....it's 5pm

This is his lastest pose

I love pictures of him asleep!

H is taking m&m's, dumping them in the box and putting them in the bowl

H carried her baby, wet wipes, diaper rash cream and diaper around with every where for a while. She's so cute!

H is doing so great eating her cereal. Some days she will have 4 bowls. Note the outfit her dad put her in.

This was before church. She kept putting the rollers in the holder and taking them out.

Rock-n-Roll? No, not so much! Last weekend, I ran the Arizona Rock-n-Roll Marathon. I trained hard; long runs, tempo runs, speed work, short runs, yoga, weight training, cross training. My goal was 4:00:00 (or under) as well as just feeling good. I felt great during my training and I was ready! But did I accomplish my goals? Obviously not the first one...and no... not the second one either. My 10K time was 56:43, right on pace; my half marathon, 1:57:51, still right one pace with a little room; at 20 miles, 3:03:42, and there goes a 4:00:00 marathon. I don't know what went wrong... I was drinking, I was eating, I had prepared. I felt great up until about mile 16 and then it was as if someone pushed the off button. My body did not want to go. It wasn't muscle or joint pain. It wasn't mental. So, why did I fail? I just don't know and I will never find out because I am never doing another marathon! Oh, and by the way, the Phoenix Rock-n-Roll marathon is not all that!

I don't know how I managed to smile especially because I look like an idiot with my hydration belt, bib, shirt around my waste, etc.

that's me in the pink finishing my last marathon
