I KNEW I Smelled Poop!

Chuck took the kids camping last weekend. As we were getting ready for bed last night, H was using the bathroom and as she was sitting there, she told me she pooped in her underwear while they were camping. I didn't really think much about it, just thinking she'd had an accident and thought I'd ask Chuck about it later, but I forgot to.

I picked C up from school today. We walked there and back and it actually rained on us, but that's beside the point. After we got home, we kicked off our shoes by the front door and I put his backpack down. As we were in that room, I kept smelling poop. I looked in baby C's diaper, nothing there. I checked the bottoms of everyone's shoes, nothing there. Not long after that, C said, "Mom, smell my backpack right here." It smelled like poop. He said Chocolate Brownie (his stuffed dog) also smelled. Sure enough, he did. I asked C if he had set his backpack down in poop and he said no (as if he'd know). So, not caring whether or not a backpack can go in the washer, I start taking everything out so I can wash it. And the first thing I find is H's underwear full of poop! Can you believe that? This poop got packed up and brought home. It was in the car (not mine) for hours. Then it spent the day at school with Cameron! I'm just glad it never fell out and that I discovered it! Well, I guess H did poop in her underwear. When I asked her about it, she said it was in the night and she just changed her underwear, put it in C's backpack and did not tell dad. When I told Chuck the story, he said she must have done it yesterday morning after he had gotten up because she came out of the tent shortly after him and had already gotten dressed. Unbelievable! And to put it in C's backpack when her bag was right there. I could die from laughter right now.

The Adorable Side of Hannah

H likes to "read" at night. But she shares a room with baby C, so she has to read with a flashlight. Actually, she has two; a regular flashlight and my running headlamp. Usually, she will read and then come out to use the bathroom before going to sleep. Well, on this night, after not coming out for a long time, I went to check on her. As you can see, I found her sound asleep with the headlamp on her head and the light on.

Kwan (Charity's husband) went to teach martial arts in the Netherlands and he brought back wooden shoes for the kids. H insisted on sleeping in hers. She wore them around a good portion of the morning the next day, but soon discovered they weren't very practical.

We went to Target to buy C a pair of tennis shoes and H brought these shoes to me and told me she wanted them. I had no idea where she'd found them, but they were her size and were on sale! I couldn't resist.

H loves to help me clean. Her favorite job is the toilet.

H is in preschool 2 days a week and is loving it. I love to hear her recite the poems and sing the songs they are learning. This was her first field trip to the new aquarium here in Tempe, which I have to say exceeded my expectations. Next to her is Natalie's little sister, Madelyn. Natalie didn't want to cooperate for this one.

H is taking a gym class one day a week. She has a lot of fun and is, for the most part, very obedient.

What's been going on....

It seems like it has been so long since I have blogged...so here is a brief update with more to come tomorrow (hopefully)...
  • (knock on wood) Our nights have been getting better. H is still getting up most often, but the frequency has slowed way down. So, why am I still exhausted ALL the time!
  • C seems to be adjusting to life in kindergarten. He rarely says he doesn't want to go and his attitude after school is a little (very little) better.
  • Baby C is on the move. His favorite places are: in my arms if I'm standing, under my feet if my hands aren't free, crawling all over me if I'm sitting or laying down.
  • Baby C has decided he no longer has the patience for the right breast. So, we are nursing on the left only. I can't complain, he did last much longer than the other two. But I can complain about his very hasty decision, giving my body no time to adjust.
  • All 3 kids feel the need to control me!
  • All 3 kids feel the need for constant attention!
  • Chuck was suppose to race last week at the Human Powered Vehicle Speed Challenge in Battle Mountain NV. However, the bike wasn't ready, so they didn't go. Very sad...

Until tomorrow...

Christian is 8 months!

Wow! How time flies. Already 8 months! Christian is so gorgeous and fat! In the last couple of weeks, he has become a pro at sitting up. This makes bathtime and mealtime much more fun! Both of which he loves. If you can't tell, he is a good little eater. He gets so excited when I nurse him. (It is to die for cute.) And he has become quite proficient at getting finger foods in his mouth. We are also starting to introduce more table foods into his diet. He had french toast the other night and he loves Ritz crackers. In fact, while we were having lunch yesterday, he was happily eating his baby food until I got something out of the cabinet where we keep the Ritz. After that, he would have no more of his baby food and had to have a cracker. I don't know how I knew this, but I did. He gets around by army crawling, making me aware of how dirty my floors are! He still, if not more than ever, loves attention. Now that he is more mobile, I often find him under my feet crying for me to pick him up. He continues to sleep well. And he gives me the most brilliant smile when I see him first thing in the morning. He loves his brother and sister. He wants to be involved in everything they are doing and when he can't be involved, he watches them so intently (too bad they are such bad examples). Although, I love watching him grow, develop, and learn, I wish he could stay little!

Chubby Cheeks and Silly Smiles

8 Things I Love About Chuck!

1. He's committed 100% to me and our family
2. He's dedicated
3. He's hardworking
4. He's supportive
5. He's appreciative
6. He wants me to be happy
7. He's a good example to our kids as well as everyone else around
8. He pulls my hair out of the shower drain.

Chuck and I just celebrated our 8th anniversary. Obviously, there are many more reasons why I adore Chuck other than the previously listed 8. But 8 seemed appropriate. I don't want to turn this into a sappy post, because no one wants to read that. But, I just have to say, when I hear other women talk about their husbands and their behavior, it reminds me how lucky I am to have Chuck! And of course, he's lucky to have me too!

My sis, Camera, came for the weekend to help watch the kids. Because of our busy schedules, we had to divide our celebrations up. Here are some of the things we did: went for a bike ride, went to the Temple, went to dinner, stayed at a B&B. It was so nice spending time alone with Chuck. I felt like we talked more over this weekend than we have the last 5+ years combined! Thanks so much Camera (and Char too)!

I absolutely adore you Chuck!

Cute Pics of Baby C

Here he managed to get the top off of his little puffs. As you can see, he was very proud of himself.

This was taken the morning after a difficult night with him. There has been very few difficult nights with him and even less the last couple months since he started sleeping thru the night.

I found him like this during a nap. I thought for sure that when he needed to move, he'd wake up and that would be the end of his nap. But when I checked on him a while later, he was in a different position and hadn't made a peep.

One minute he was happily rolling around on the floor playing and the next he was sound asleep. This rarely happens!
