Highlights of 2020 - the year of Covid.

January - Christian celebrated his 10th Birthday.

February - Christian completed the Spartan Race.

March - We were able to attend the Phoenix and Tucson temples, spend some time in the Tucson area, and attend a Spring training game during Spring Break.  We were lucky to have a fun Spring Break.  The world basically went into a blind panic at the end of the break.

April - We celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus Christ,

May - We celebrated Cameron's (15), Rebekah's, Hannah's (13) and Chuck's birthdays. And the boys went on a wicked cool backpacking trip to Hannah Hot Springs.

June - The boys went backpacking in CO and the girls enjoyed some quiet time together.

July - We went to Kings Island in Cincinnati, OH.

August - Rebekah met a couple college roommates (Jeri and Elesa) in San Diego for a few days. Cameron got to play some football. Hannah finally got her bike that was ordered before her birthday but she did have to settle for a white one instead of yellow.

September - Hannah and Christian started joining me for runs or hikes at South Mountain.  Sometimes they would both go but it usually worked out better if they went one at a time.

October - Christian got to play some baseball (catching here) and Cameron got to umpire.

November - Cameron got his learner's permit.  He is learning to drive on a standard.

December - Cameron got his braces off.  (He did Invisalign so no one really knew he had braces). And Charity come for a visit.

It was definitely a weird and crazy year with much negativity and disappointment. Although it is easier said than done, I tried to encourage everyone to look for the good that came out of Covid and to make the most out of the situation.  I asked everyone to give me two or three positive things that resulted from Covid.

Christian said there were less people when you went out and we had more family time.  With that family time, we played a lot of card games and a lot of four square.  We also watched a lot of movies and read more.

Hannah said she had more time to develop her talents.  She took online guitar lessons and spent a lot of time drawing and painting.  Hannah also said it made you appreciate what you have.

Cameron said he gained a greater appreciation for in person school.  He also had more time to work out.

I appreciated having a less hectic schedule.  I also enjoyed not having to take the kids to and from school or pack lunches.

Chuck said he enjoyed having more time to sleep and better quality riding time.

So although it will probably be remembered as THE WORST YEAR EVER, maybe it wasn't so bad after all.
